Get ready for a thrilling summer of power metal as DragonForce announces their highly anticipated European tour, kicking off in June and July 2025. The 14-date trek will see the band performing at some of the continent’s most iconic festivals, including Sweden Rock Festival, Nova Rock, and Graspop Metal Meeting, while also sharing the stage with fellow metal giants Powerwolf on select dates.
Guitarist Herman Li expressed his excitement, stating, "I can’t wait to see you all again in Europe this summer on the DragonForce EU tour, playing festivals and some dates with our friends Powerwolf. Tickets are on sale now, grab yours at the DragonForce site."
The tour begins with a bang at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden, from June 4-7, followed by a series of shows across Europe. Highlights include festival appearances at Nova Rock in Nickelsdorf, Austria, on June 14, and Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium, on June 21. Fans can also catch DragonForce alongside Powerwolf at venues like Zenith in Toulouse and Lyon, France, on June 10 and 11, respectively, and Stadthalle in Rostock, Germany, on June 20. Additional stops include Tuska in Helsinki, Finland, from June 27-29, and Masters of Rock Festival in Vizovice, Czech Republic, from July 10-13.
The tour also features special guests: Amaranthe will join DragonForce in Huskvarna and Uppsala, Sweden, on June 22 and 24, while Epica will share the stage in Lodz, Poland, on June 30 at Atlas Arena.
In a recent interview with Chile’s Power of Metal, Li reflected on the band’s evolution, particularly the addition of bassist and vocalist Alicia Vigil in early 2020. Replacing longtime bassist Frédéric Leclercq, who left in August 2019 to join Kreator, Vigil has become an integral part of DragonForce. "Alicia’s been with the band for more than four years now, so she’s well established," Li said. "We jell really well, we play really well together… I think this is the happiest the band has ever been."
Looking back on DragonForce’s 25-year journey, which began in 1999 as Dragonheart and saw their debut demo "Valley of the Damned" released independently in 2000, Li shared a sense of pride and resilience. "When we first started in 1999, we were just having fun," he recalled. "To become respected or legendary—you have to weather the storms, face the highs and lows. But we love what we do, and we have our unique way of doing it." With their signature energy and epic sound, DragonForce continues to blaze a trail, promising unforgettable performances across Europe this summer.
